We first met Pam and Stephen last year when Pam’s sister Sabrina and her hubby Franco were married. The one thing I remembered so vividly from that day was just how amazingly kind and warm their family was to us. Joe, Pam and Sabrina’s father, was constantly asking us if we needed anything or if he could do something for us. He is always smiling… and last Saturday morning it was exactly the same. It was pouring rain when we started our morning coverage at 8 am. Pam arrived home from the salon with a huge smile and an attitude of “I don’t care if it’s raining this is going to be the most amazing day”. I love that both her and Stephen are so easy going and were completely trusted us with the photo location when their plan to visit Pioneer Village fell through because of the heavy rain and winds. Everything fell into place and we had an amazing day. The rain stopped briefly in the mid afternoon and we went outside to capture some photos with the vintage car they rented. The reception at Paramount was gorgeous – I loved the decor and little hints of Autumn and lots of sparkle. Their Same Day Edit matched their personalities perfectly – it was both fun and upbeat! We know that just as they’ve spent many years together planning for their big day they’ll now have many, many more years ahead of great adventures… cheers to love and laughter!

Last week we flew out to spend a couple of days with Meaghan and Brad in Fredericton, NB. It’s been many years since I have been to the Eastern part of Canada and Brian had never been so we were excited to not only meet and spend time with this fabulous couple but to also do a bit of sightseeing. From our skype conversations before our visit we knew a few important details… a) they absolutely love the beauty of their current home town b) there is a walking bridge over the St. John river that they cross almost nightly when they go for their walks together and c) they love being outdoors. The weather was incredible while we were there and the fall colours were peaking with bright yellows and vibrant reds. We shared meals and beers together and had many conversations… getting to know them was a big part of our reason for going and of course we also wanted to capture some engagement photos and their engagement story. Brian created this beautiful short film as a save the date… we hope it gets everyone excited in anticipation of their Summer 2014 wedding story. I love that no matter where their travels may take them in the years to come they will always have these memories of their time in scenic Fredericton.
What a beautiful wedding story we had the honour of capturing yesterday. Karen and Lorne were married in an absolutely gorgeous ceremony in the Governor’s Room at the Ancaster Mill. The rains held off, family and friends gathered with full hearts for a celebration joining two families. I especially love ceremonies that unite different cultures and religions and knowing how important having a Jewish ceremony was to Karen it was all that more special seeing the two of them under the Chuppah surrounded by their parents, closest friends, candles and gorgeous florals. The room looked incredible. Speaking of incredible, Karen’s champagne coloured lace dress was breathtaking. My favourite part of their day was when they saw each other for the first time. I love the look on Lorne’s face as Karen looked over at him from the upstairs railing and I especially loved the few minutes they had alone together immediately after when Karen whispers “here we go … now that I’ve seen him I’m ready, now I’m okay”. Their Same Day Edit was a complete surprise. Karen’s mom and dad had requested this as a surprise gift to their daughter and new son-in-law. It was amazing to watch their faces as they watched their wedding story on the big screen surrounded by all of their wedding party, family and friends. I couldn’t believe how hard it was to keep this secret from them the past few months, but I’m so glad we did. What a truly beautiful and memorable gift! The SDE ended with a standing ovation and lots of hugs… we believe it truly captures the essence of their love story.
