What a beautiful wedding story we had the honour of capturing yesterday.  Karen and Lorne were married in an absolutely gorgeous ceremony in the Governor’s Room at the Ancaster Mill.  The rains held off, family and friends gathered with full hearts for a celebration joining two families.  I especially love ceremonies that unite different cultures and religions and knowing how important having a Jewish ceremony was to Karen it was all that more special seeing the two of them under the Chuppah surrounded by their parents, closest friends, candles and gorgeous florals.  The room looked incredible.  Speaking of incredible, Karen’s champagne coloured lace dress was breathtaking.  My favourite part of their day was when they saw each other for the first time.  I love the look on Lorne’s face as Karen looked over at him from the upstairs railing and I especially loved the few minutes they had alone together immediately after when Karen whispers “here we go …  now that I’ve seen him I’m ready, now I’m okay”.  Their Same Day Edit was a complete surprise.  Karen’s mom and dad had requested this as a surprise gift to their daughter and new son-in-law.  It was amazing to watch their faces as they watched their wedding story on the big screen surrounded by all of their wedding party, family and friends.  I couldn’t believe how hard it was to keep this secret from them the past few months, but I’m so glad we did.  What a truly beautiful and memorable gift!  The SDE ended with a standing ovation and lots of hugs… we believe it truly captures the essence of their love story.

What a beautiful wedding story … Rebecca and Steve had the most perfect day… a super fun bridal party, amazing parents, family and friends… so much love surrounding them as they wed that it was really very magical to be there in the midst of it all.  Their ceremony was held outdoors at the Ancaster Mill and we just loved that they said personal vows to each other, it’s always extra beautiful when words are spoken from the heart.  We had a quick 45 minutes for photos in between the ceremony and reception so we headed to Canterbury Hills and it was nice for the two of them to have that little bit of down time to enjoy a glass of champagne and take it all in.   From the Potting Shed did an absolutely fabulous job on the floral design and it was a pleasure to work alongside Jackie and Amy of The Prepared Bride.  Their wedding cake was a simplistic yet elegant design from The Luvvly Cake Co.  We know these two are off celebrating on their Mediterranean honeymoon, but we wanted to post their highlights so they can enjoy them from some romantic location and re-live their magical day!   A full post of photos will be up on the blog in a few weeks.  May happiness and joy fill your hearts for always!

On Saturday, February 18, 2012 Andrea and Brandon’s wedding story unfolded and we were there to capture every detail, every moment, every mini-story of the day. The weather was perfect. The snow fell lightly in the morning, just enough to have to get out the shovels and clear the sidewalks and just wet enough that it made the best snowballs – the icy ones – the ones best for playing hockey with. The guys met at Brandon’s parents for a huge breakfast made by Mrs. A. The girls headed off to the salon to begin their morning of hair and make up. We planned a 3 pm reveal so Andrea and Brandon could see each other briefly just before their actual ceremony. With winter weddings, when daylight fades so quickly, it’s so nice to have a few minutes with just the bride and groom in the soft afternoon light. At exactly 3:15 it began to snow and it literally lasted only 2 minutes, but the timing was perfect. Their fireside ceremony upstairs in the old mill was beautiful and their personal vows were perfectly them. We managed to have about an hour in between the ceremony and reception and while Brian and I were capturing moments with their family and bridal party Matt was busy editing their Same Day Edit. Our inaugural Love Madly SDE showed about 9 pm and was enjoyed by everyone. Be sure to check out our blog for a photo sneak peek.
