Alana and Mark’s wedding was absolutely breathtaking. The impeccable details, design and decor were pure magic. We are not surprised at all that it’s featured today by Wedluxe as part of their True Love, True Luxury wedding series. I’m so happy to finally be able to share some of the images from their special day and that many will get to enjoy them on the Wedluxe blog and Facebook page as well. It was a pleaure working alongside some incredible vendors: Makeup Worx, Candice and Alison Luxury Event Planners, Cake Opera Co, Susan Murray International, Sweet Peony Press, Dance Floor Decor and Creations by Gitta. We wish these two a lifetime of love and happiness!
I will never forget the first time we met with Kira and Mike many months ago. Kira said she envisioned her wedding to take place in non-traditional venue where all their friends and family could gather and celebrate for an entire weekend, not just a single day! I love this idea as it gave many a mini vacation in Niagara on the Lake, such a picturesque and beautiful place to spend time, especially with loved ones. Yesterday, we spent the morning with Kira and her girls at the Regent House, a gorgeous home. Monika and her Makeup Worx team were there to beautify all the lovely ladies. The guys jumped onto the Limo bus and headed to Niagara Falls for some mini putt in the morning; I loved that they all got dressed up in mismatched golf attire for the occasion.
After their 1st look in NOTL we headed to the fabulous Honsberger Estate in Jordan for photos followed by their beautiful ceremony and reception. Liz and Danielle at Gush Events did an amazing job at coordinating and making everything run smoothly and were also a great support to us by making sure we had everything we needed. Breathtaking floral design was provided by Mimosa Flowers and Liquid Entertainment had everyone dancing late into the night. The evening ended with a fantastic fireworks display that had everyone ooohing and awwwwing… of course we also heard some of those sounds and lots of laughter during their Same Day Edit. It did our hearts good to receive a standing ovation from the entire room after it played. We have grown really close to Kira and Mike over the past year and felt an immediate bond with their family and friends as well. We want to thank everyone for being so incredibly warm and inviting to our entire team yesterday… this was a wedding story we won’t soon forget! Enjoy your honeymoon in Switzerland xo

It’s always an honour to be featured on other wedding blogs, especially ones that we really, truly LOVE! We have been fans of Style Me Pretty for years and it’s the only place we choose to pay for advertising for Love Madly because we believe that their Little Black Book of preferred/favourite vendors along with all of their local wedding blogs provide couples with beautiful and inspirational ideas to plan their perfect wedding.
A couple of weeks ago they featured the incredible and romantic wedding story of one of our couples, Linda + Mike, that we captured last summer along with Claudia Hung. It is still one of our all-time favourite wedding stories. This couple came all the way ‘home’ from California to say I do in a lakeside ceremony at Palais Royale in Toronto. You can check it out here:
When we first skyped with Linda and Mike back in January it was freezing cold here, but it was just another balmy day for them at their home in sunny Los Angeles. It was during that initial conversation that they divulged a secret to us and asked us if we could help them. We were intrigued and of course excited. Linda and Mike were planning their upcoming wedding celebration in Toronto, which would happen in a few months’ time, they were flying up from California to their hometown in order to profess their love to each other in front of family and friends. What almost everyone present that June day didn’t know was that Linda and Mike were actually already married. The summer before they had eloped, drove up the California coast and were wed on the beach with less than a handful of guests. It was really important to Linda and Mike that the handheld footage captured by their friend during that first ceremony be incorporated into their feature film that we would be producing from their wedding footage here in Toronto. They said that if we didn’t think it fit not to worry, but if they could possibly have just one wedding film that encompassed both weddings that would truly be their perfect wedding film. When we watched the shaky, often under-exposed footage from that day we immediately got goosebumps. It felt so real, raw and organic. It took you back to that place and time and it really made us feel like we had been there on the beach with them that day. It also fit so perfectly with the footage that we shot almost a year later. This highlight film is one of my very favourite pieces we’ve ever created because to me it really does meld together two events into one story. It is the wedding story of Linda and Mike. Two warm and wonderful people who said we do twice to each other, in two separate countries, during two ceremonies that couldn’t be any more different from each other. Yet, one constant remains and that is their love and promises to each other.

Yesterday was the most beautiful November day. The sun shone all day long and made the autumn leaves, still left clinging to the trees, almost sparkle. It really felt more like a late September day and we were fortunate to spend it capturing the wedding story of Heather and James. I’m convinced that when these two are together they make every day feel warm and cozy. We knew from our very first meeting with them many months ago that their wedding story would be very special. When they shared their proposal story with us and told us they had some actual footage from the top of Blackcomb in Whistler we knew we wanted to somehow incorporate that into their Same Day Edit. We love how they both grin from ear to ear when they look at each other and how much they both positively beam when speaking about the other. James is an identical twin and I worried that we wouldn’t be able to tell him and his brother apart, but as long as Heather wasn’t too far away you could definitely tell which one was James – his eyes would sparkle, just like the autumn leaves. I am not sure we’ve ever seen a groom get this emotional at the first sight of his bride. It was beautiful to witness James waiting for Heather at the alter. There were so many fabulous and intimate details that I loved about their day, but my favourite was the fireworks during the reception, which were truly incredible. Unfortunately, they happened after the same day edit was shown, but they will definitely be a special part of their feature film. We were reminded once again last night right after the same day edit why we do what we do. Being the keeper of memories never gets old and our passion for capturing stories about love only gets stronger and stronger.
